FORMER GOLDENDALE ALUMINUM SMELTER

Goldendale, WA

Plateau serves as the technical lead for the investigation and closure of this property. The former aluminum smelter closed in 2003, is demolished, and is under remedial investigation per a Washington State Dept. of Ecology Agreed Order. The investigation addresses RCRA Solid Waste Management Units as well as other sources related to the operation of the primary aluminum plant. Plateau prepares work plans and manages field investigation and will prepare a final site closure report for submittal to Washington Department of Ecology.


SINGER’S CHEVRON FOOD MART

Walla Walla, WA

The Singer’s Chevron Food Mart site has been a Chevron gas station since 1930. Plateau conducted a groundwater investigation to determine impact to groundwater from an underground gasoline tank that was removed in 1981. Monitoring wells were installed during the investigation and were sampled during late 2011 and early 2012. Plateau has submitted a site investigation report to Washington Department of Ecology for review and consideration of a No Further Action for the site.


HEADQUARTERS RESOURCES FLY ASH PLANT

Centrailia, WA

This property is a fly ash storage facility and was the subject of a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment identifying potential environmental issues. Plateau conducted a field investigation of the property to support upgrading site facilities. Plateau collected soil and groundwater samples through a series of borings, catch basin sediment samples from onsite catch basins and fly ash from onsite stockpiles. The investigation determined no environmental issues were present.


MEDEROS PROPERTY GEOHAZARD ASSESSMENT

Washougal, WA

Plateau conducted a geologic reconnaissance of the 20-acre property to identify any geohazards that may affect residential development. The property owner intended to subdivide into four 5-acre parcels with new homesites to be located on three of the parcels. Plateau evaluated surface water, slopes and potential unstable slopes on the three homesite parcels and provided recommendations for future development of the homesite parcels.
